C Fearns Agricultural Engineers
Was started by Charles Thomas Fearns, a Derbyshire Farmer who was
converting horse drawn drays and wagons and fitting them with pneumatic
tyres in the 1920's, he would turn his hand to anything agricultural,
then in the 30's he was busy changing shafts etc to convert machinery
for use with tractors, etc and the business was born.
He would make, adapt and sell parts for tractors, and supply parts for farm machinery to provide additional income for the farm.
He carried on with his farming, contracting and repairing
until the 1950's when his son John Claude Fearns took up the challenge
and incorporated the knowledge learned first in the quarries, diesel
fitting and later whilst with REME to move the company forward.
In 1981 he moved C Fearns to it's present home at Oakenclough Farm and
his son Charles Fearns has carried on with the agricultural engineering
and repairs business and added the supply of high quality tractor parts and
tractor accessories, alongside parts for agricultural machinery at affordable prices to the
company profile.
We are still very much a family run business and are happy to
maintain the personal service and helpful attitude that makes farming
such a great industry to be in. We are not linked to any main
dealership & therefore can offer competitive prices for most makes of tractor and machines. We supply to enthusiasts and trade, have access to
thousands of replacement tractor parts, most are available even if not in stock
on a nextday carrier.
We
have a small retail outlet and visitors are always welcome.
We have a fully equipped workshop and long experience of service and
repair to these hard working machines. We appreciate that downtime on a
busy farm is a major problem and aim to provide a quick and efficient service that keeps the down time to a minimum
